Road Trip Part II

Road Trip Part I

We were blessed to be invited to the wedding of a good friend of Jeff's. We traveled nearly four hours and stayed with a very generous and gracious church friend of the bride. (Now forever friends of ours too!)

"Locked and Loaded" ready to start the trip. We had to pretty much take them from their beds and plop them in the van to get out the door on time!
Playing with bubbles while we waited for the Bride and Groom to make their grand entrance into the reception hall:
The lovely Bride and the handsome groom getting announced for their first dance:
Daddy/Daughter Dance:
Lydia chased this poor boy around the hall until he finally got cornered by his mother to dance with her!
The groom had a special dance with all the kids:
Our Family:
This is how Bo ended up sleeping that night...(effectively booting Mommy out of her sleeping spot too!)
Lydia was patient to watch Clifford while she waited for Bo to wake up and play with her!

I'm bummed we didn't think to get a picture with our "host family" Mr & Mrs Poling (or as Lydia called them "The Grandpa & The Nonni") but want to say again how much we greatly appreciated their willingness to let our chaos into their home! THANK YOU!!!

Farmer Jeff???

So Jeff and Lydia had planned a trip to the garden center a few minutes from our house to buy me a hanging flower pot for the second part of my Mother's Day gifts. Jeff took off a half day of work yesterday so we could go pick it out as a family. I'm still fuzzy on the details of the how's and why's but somehow we ended up with not only a hanging flower pot, but also two kinds of tomatoes, strawberries, yellow squash, and cucumbers!!! Oh, and let's not forget all the "soil treatment" stuff the lady also talked him into! *sigh* To be fair, I think I should mention that I also bought more than planned so I could plant some flowers around the house too. :)

I made it rather clear that this was HIS project...so I mowed the lawn while he dug and tilled up the spot for the garden:

My geranium from our church on Mother's Day:
The culprit that started it all: The hanging pot (it is lovely though!)
My "double impatients"
The Mini-Garden:
We found some rather odd things while Jeff was digging up the spot...including some funky looking bugs, glass, gravel, all sorts of fun stuff!
